EPDM ROOFING FOR COMMERCIAL & AGRICULTURAL BUILDINGS

We install fleece-backed EPDM roofing on flat commercial roofs for both new builds and full refurbishment projects.

Once applied, the membrane forms a continuous barrier that keeps large, low-pitch roof areas reliably weather proof.

When do you need commercial EPDM repair or replacement?

Flat commercial roofs may require attention where there is:

  • Persistent water ingress
  • Cracking or splitting of older coverings
  • Failed joints around penetrations
  • Deterioration of ageing felt or fibreglass systems
  • Recurring patch repairs

The condition of the deck, drainage and the existing covering determine whether repair is viable or if renewal is the better route.

Our commercial EPDM roofing services

Our work includes:

  • New fleece-backed EPDM installations
  • Replacement of ageing flat roofing systems
  • Overlay where structural conditions allow
  • Detailing around plant equipment, vents and penetrations
  • Integration with existing guttering and edge trims

EPDM is particularly effective over large flat roof areas.

Why choose commercial EPDM roofing?

EPDM’s track record on commercial flat roofs is well established and it’s been widely used for decades.

  • Resistant to UV degradation which often causes older felt and bitumen systems to break down, has little effect on EPDM
  • Can be overlaid onto sound existing decks in some cases, reducing the scope and cost of replacement
  • Handles standing water better than most systems – effective on large flat roofs where drainage is never perfect
  • Cold-applied installation means no hot works on site, reducing risk and simplifying access on occupied buildings
  • The fleece-backed construction improves resilience and allows minor structural movement without stressing the membrane.

FAQ’s

Can EPDM be installed over an existing roof? +

In some cases, yes – provided the existing surface is dry and structurally sound. Suitability depends on moisture levels and deck condition.

Is it suitable for large surface areas? +

Yes. The continuous membrane reduces joint lines, making it well-suited to wide, low-pitch surfaces.

How is waste managed during replacement projects? +

Where strip-out is necessary, we remove and dispose of old coverings as part of the project, leaving the site clear once installation is complete.

Can EPDM be installed on occupied commercial buildings? +

In most cases, yes. Work is planned in defined stages so areas remain protected and the building can continue operating wherever possible.
